HOUSTON -- Sunshine returns to the Houston area Thursday, but there will still be a few clouds in the sky, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
We were in the upper-30s out the door early this morning. This afternoon we’ll only top out in the upper-50s.
“Arctic air will remain in place Thursday, but it’s going to be short-lived,” said Johnson. “We’re going to start to warm up even this afternoon and then later through the weekend. The 30s you see are only going to be limited to Thursday morning.”
As the rodeo cook-off gets underway tonight, temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s across town.
Early Friday we’ll be in the mid-40s, and it only gets warmer after that. Friday afternoon will also be mostly sunny with high temps in the low-70s.
Saturday and Sunday a few clouds return along with a chance for rain as daytime temps approach the upper-70s.
On Monday the temperatures drop once again as a slight chance for rain continues into Tuesday.
Next week is looking cool – with daytime temps in the mid-50s and overnight lows in the 30s once again by Wednesday.
