HOUSTON -– After several days of being let down, showers moved into the Houston area out of the southwest early Monday.
Several of our counties got a good drenching and there's more on the way, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“By this afternoon we are going to see the chance for some isolated storms to develop," Johnson said.
The rain chance starts to dwindle a little on Tuesday as our daytime temps remain in the mid-90s.
By this weekend our skies will be sunny, temps will creep into the upper 90s and the chance for rain goes away.
Looking at the tropics, we’re tracking Tropical Storm Chantal. By this Thursday or Friday we should have a much better idea of where it’s heading, but right now its track has it heading toward southern Florida. It’s too soon to tell if it will go west into the Gulf of Mexico or east along the East Coast.
