HOUSTON –- With the arrival of a cold front and scattered showers, the Houston area will endure “bitter cold” air for at least the next seven days, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

The overnight hours from Thursday to Friday will be very cold, creating the possibility of icy roadways in Central and North Texas. Closer to Houston, ice should not be a problem.

Friday will be colder as the chance for rain jumps to 50 percent.

“It’s going to get colder going into next week,” Paul said. “We will wake up to 41 degrees.”

For the next several days our overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s and our afternoon highs won’t be much warmer.

The chance for rain lasts through the weekend and for the start of your next workweek.
