HOUSTON — The work week will start off dreary after a cold front moves through overnight early Monday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

Expect to see plenty of cloud coverage Monday including some light rain along the southern Gulf Coast communities. Temps will start off in the upper-30s for most of the Houston area before they warm up to the low-50s in the afternoon.

Temps are expected to be even colder heading into the New Year’s holiday. Our early-morning temperatures will be in the low- to mid-30s.

However, New Year’s Eve is looking clear, which means weather won’t get in the way of Houston-area fireworks shows.
