HOUSTON -- Friday will be cold and cloudy with a slight chance for freezing rain, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 12 p.m. for Austin, Colorado, Grimes and Washington counties. While there is a slight chance for a mix of snow and sleet well northwest of Houston, closer to the city we’ll only see a few scattered showers throughout the morning.
"It's a cold start to the day, but temperatures in the immediate Houston area are above the freezing mark," said Johnson. "If we see any precipitation it will likely be between 8 a.m. and lunchtime."
This afternoon won’t be much warmer, only topping out in the upper-30s with a 10-percent chance for rain.
Saturday the sun returns and our early-morning lows in the 30s will quickly get into the low-60s in the afternoon.
Sunday will also be slightly warmer as a few clouds return.
A good chance for rain, 40 and 60 percent, moves back into Houston on Monday and Tuesday as the temps drop back into the 40s and 50s.
