HOUSTON -- Friday morning will be cold in the Houston area as more rain approaches for the weekend, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
Friday morning temps will be in the lower-40s with a 20 percent chance for rain. There is a forecast high of 58 degrees and the rain chance increases to 60 percent in the afternoon.
Saturday the rain chance decreases to 20 percent, and by Sunday it goes away entirely.
Next week will be a little warmer with daytime temperatures in the low-60s and overnight lows in the upper-30s and low-40s.
Looking at Christmas in the extended forecast, there is a potential arctic cold front heading to the Houston area that will drop overnight lows into the teens and highs in the 20s. This means people traveling out of town will want to prepare their homes and protect their pipes ahead of time.
