HOUSTON – The first day of spring should be a nice one in the Houston area, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
We were in the low-60s across town in the early-morning hours Thursday.
“We are under cloudy skies this morning, but they will continue to break apart and move east,” said Johnson. “Once that moisture is out of here, it will be all about the sunshine later this afternoon.”
Spring officially begins at 11:57 a.m. Central time Thursday. This afternoon we’ll top out in the mid-70s under sunny skies.
Friday is also looking nice with slightly warmer temperatures.
Saturday a few clouds return with a slight chance for rain.
Sunday and Monday there will be a significant chance for rain as daytime temperatures drop from the upper-70s into the mid-60s.
Tuesday the clouds move out, leaving us with mild temperatures.
