HOUSTON – After a pleasant weekend, rain will return to the Houston area as tropical moisture from the Pacific combined with a frontal boundary will develop into showers Tuesday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

To start the work week, overnight temps will get down into the mid-50s before warming up to the mid-70s. There is a slight chance for rain on Monday, but the heavy rains are not expected until late Tuesday and Wednesday.

There is a 40 percent of rain Tuesday, which increases to 50 percent on Wednesday.

After the front moves through, we could see highs barely break into the low-70s and a low of 50 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
