HOUSTON –- Thursday will be cloudy and cold in the Houston area with a slight breeze, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
The wind chill gave us “feels like” temperatures in the 20s in the early-morning hours.
Thursday afternoon we’ll top out in the mid-50s under cloudy skies.
“Today will be pretty similar to yesterday,” said Johnson. “We’ll have a steady stream of clouds moving in from the west. Even if you do see the sun, it will be brief. We’re not expecting any rain drops out of those clouds, however.”
Friday there’s a 60-percent chance for rain with temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
Saturday the rain chance decreases to 20 percent, and by Sunday it goes away entirely.
Next week will be a little warmer with daytime temperatures in the low-60s and overnight lows in the upper-30s and low-40s.
Looking at Christmas in the extended forecast, there is a potential arctic cold front heading to the Houston area that will drop overnight lows into the teens and highs in the 20s. This means people traveling out of town will want to prepare their homes and protect their pipes ahead of time.
