HOUSTON – New Year’s Day in southeast Texas will be cool and cloudy with a chance for rain, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“The chance for rain will mainly be in our later hours Wednesday,” said Johnson. “It is pretty cloudy out this morning, so I can’t rule out a few early sprinkles, but the best chance for showers will roll in after about 1 or 2 p.m.”
There’s a 30-percent chance for rain today with a forecast high of 61 degrees.
On Thursday the clouds break apart a little with early morning temperatures in the 40s and daytime temps in the mid-50s.
This weekend will start off sunny but clouds and a slight chance for rain return on Sunday and Monday.
The temperatures drop early next week with overnight lows in the 30s.
