HOUSTON -- We’re now less than 24 hours from the official start of summer – and it feels like it.
Friday will be another hot and muggy day in the Houston area.
Isolated storms and downpours started moving in off the Gulf shortly before lunchtime.
These showers will make their way closer to Houston around noon -- with our western counties getting storm activity starting at 10 a.m.
“If you factor in the humidity, you know it’ll be muggy and sticky,” said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson. “It was a little more pleasant this morning compared to yesterday, but we’re still expecting temperatures in the low- to mid-90s this afternoon.”
We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds today.
This weekend will be the same, but early next week a new chance for rain moves in.
By next Wednesday and Thursday scattered showers could cool our temperatures a bit for next weekend.
