HOUSTON – Big weather changes are expected Tuesday when heavy rain moves in, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said.

“A flash flood watch has already been issued in anticipation of the heavy rain threat,” he said.

Moisture from the Gulf moved in late Monday and that will stir up a storm system that will bring heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday.

The storms could include severe weather in the form of flash floods and gusty winds and possibly tornadoes.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect beginning Tuesday at 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. Thursday morning for Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton counties.
