HOUSTON – It will soon start to feel more like fall in the Houston area as Tuesday brings a nice transition period with partly cloudy skies, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
Temperatures will top out in the mid-80s Tuesday, about five degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.
“We will notice a nice northerly breeze this afternoon with gusts at about 15 to 20 miles per hour," said Johnson. “Wednesday we are going to see another five to ten degree drop off of where temperatures started today."
There’s only a 20-percent chance for rain, but Johnson said northerly counties will have more clouds and a greater chance of seeing a light sprinkle.
Looking ahead in the seven-day forecast, Wednesday will start at 61 degrees and top out at 84 degrees. Thursday starts even cooler at 57 degrees.
Fall officially begins Saturday at 9:49 a.m.
