HOUSTON – The chance for rain is dwindling down Thursday as it starts to feel more like summer outside, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.
Lows kicked off in the lower-70s today and highs were expected to top off in the low-to mid-90s. There was also a 20-percent chance for afternoon showers.
"Tomorrow we should see our last chance for scattered showers," Johnson said. "As we head into our upcoming weekend, those chances go out and that sunshine will return."
As the rain slacks up, the heat index is spiking. Some neighborhoods could see temps reaching 100 degrees.
Things will be slightly less intense in areas to the south.
