The remnants of Ida are producing heavy rain squalls across northern Georgia and Alabama. The storm washed ashore near Mobile, Alabama early Tuesday morning as a tropical storm. Highest winds where clocked at 60mph near the mouth of the Mississippi river. The storm is moving northeast towads the Carolinas with a band of four inches possible along the eastern seaboard towards the Appalachian mountains. Isolated rainfall totals of up to eight inches could fall Tuesday evening within this region. Flash flood watches and flood warnings have been issued from northern Georgia to the Carolinas. A record 3.64" of rain fell in Pensacola with the heaviest rainfall totals of 5 inches in southcentral Alabama. Southern municipal water reservoirs are all benefiting from Ida's rain making ability. A frontal boundary will help redirect Ida's rain offshore after Thursday. In the mean time Houston continues to enjoy beautifull Fall-Like days in Ida's wake until the start of the weekend.
