HOUSTON — Houston police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted for shooting a man and sexually assaulting a woman in northwest Houston Thursday evening.

According to HPD, the man and woman had just returned to their townhome in the 7900 block of Ellinger Lane around 7:45 p.m., and were unloading their vehicle in the garage, when the suspect approached and demanded money. The couple was forced inside, where the man was shot and the woman was sexually assaulted.

The suspect then fled in the couple’s vehicle and abandoned it about 50 feet away.

The 35-year-old male victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

“We don’t know yet, he is just breathing and not showing any improvement yet,” said an unidentified family member.

The woman was treated at an area hospital and released.

“The man was sitting in the garage just slumped and had a rag on his head. The sofa, they have a white leather sofa, there was blood all over. I saw him pass by and he was bleeding all over his mouth and he was like, he looked dead to me,” said Victoria Garcia, who called 911.

Neighbors say they see the young Asian couple and their son from time to time.

“I think her husband has his own business I think she works at a nail spa,” Helen Knox, a neighbor, said.

Now many here are living in fear.

“Nothing like this ever happens in our area, we are just real surprised. We’re hoping he’ll be OK,” Oscar Knox, another neighbor, said.

The suspect is said to be at least 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds and has a thin build.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
