HOUSTON—Scattered showers are expected for the rest of the afternoon before the summer-like heat begins to set in tomorrow, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
""Enjoy the showers and the cloud cover today because by tomorrow and the rest of the week temperatures are going to start getting warm again," said Johnson."
Temperatures right now are in the high 60s and low 70s around the greater Houston area. Highs will be in the low 80s before nearing the 90s towards the end of the week.
Today is the first day of hurricane season for the Pacific. Tropical storm Aletta formed a day early to the west of Mexico and hurricane season for the Atlantic is around the corner.
