HOUSTON – A big round of thunderstorms has cleared the Houston area, but a line of showers could still bring some rain in the late afternoon and early evening Wednesday, said KHOU 11 Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

“We still think there’s going to be a pretty good chance for showers through the rush hour, maybe even through the early evening when you get home,” said Gomez. “Our future track shows rain moving through northwest Houston around 7 p.m.”

Once this last line of showers moves through, we’ll have clearing skies through the morning hours. Temperatures overnight tonight will dip into the low-50s.

Thursday the sun starts to return with a daytime high in the mid-60s. Friday things start heating up again, leading us into a warm and sunny weekend.

Our next big chance for rain could come as early as next Monday or Tuesday.
