HOUSTON -- The sunshine has returned and we probably will not see a rain chance until the middle of next week, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
Now that the rain is gone for a few days, our rain totals show that we are way above normal for the first 16 days of the year. Bush and Hobby have seen just over three inches. Normally, they’re at 1.5 inches. In Galveston, the normal is two inches; however, they’ve seen more than seven inches of rain.
Even with the sunshine, it was still chilly and breezy on Wednesday. While Houston’s high temp hovered around 50, the wind chill made if feel like it was in the 40’s.
Overnight and into Thursday morning, lows will be at or below freezing in the northern counties. Temps will rebound during the day to the upper 50’s with breezy and sunny conditions.
From Houston to the coast, overnight lows will be a little above freezing. On Thursday, highs will also be in the upper 50’s.
Over the next seven days, expect chilly mornings and cool afternoons. Highs this weekend will be in the 60’s.
