Houston – There will be a mix of sun and clouds Friday, but the wind is going to be a key player this weekend, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said.
“It’s a beautiful weekend, but it’s also going to be breezy, warm and humid,” said Paul. “Make sure the kids and grandparents are staying hydrated; especially with that wind. It can accelerate dehydration.”
Anyone planning to head down to Galveston Beach should also use caution in the water.
“Be careful swimmers. In fact, we may see red flags on the beaches this weekend because of the threat for rip currents, it is going to be a stiff south wind,” Paul said. “Inexperienced swimmers should not go in over your knees and ankles, at most.”
A small craft Advisory is also in effect for boaters in Galveston Bay.
As for the temperatures, Friday kicked off with lows in the upper-60s and highs are going to top off in the upper-80s. That weather pattern is expected to continue through the weekend, then a 20-percent rain chance returns to the forecast for the first half of our next work week.
