HOUSTON—It is going to take a lot of rain for the Houston-area to recover from the drought, but we are heading in the right direction, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said. The weather over the next few days will be calm and pleasant through the weekend.

Wednesday kicked off with lows in the lower-70s, highs are expected to top off near the mid-90s, and there is a 10-percent chance for rain.

The extended forecast shows a highly-anticipated front will approach tomorrow, bringing in a 30-percent chance for rain. Then after it passes Friday, high temperatures will drop, ranging from the upper-80s to the lower-90s this weekend.
