HOUSTON – Keep an umbrella handy as spotty showers are expected throughout Friday as moisture from the Gulf makes its way through the area, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.

The high was 74 degrees at noon and should increase this afternoon to 76 as we continue to experience above average temperatures for this time of the year, Johnson said.

There will be a 20 percent chance of rain throughout the day as the weather gets a little muggy later this evening. The temperature should drop to about 69 after 7 p.m.

The above average temperatures will continue through this weekend but the clouds should clear out by Saturday afternoon.
