HOUSTON – After experiencing mostly cloudy skies and some light rain on Saturday, expect to see plenty of sunshine Sunday as Memorial Day weekend continues, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

There will also be a mix of sun and clouds for those heading out to Galveston island today, so don't forget the sunscreen. The UV index is expected to peak by Memorial Day.

Looking at this holiday weekend, things will be hot, humid, and sticky with afternoon temperatures around 90 degrees for the next several days. However, the humidity will make it feel warmer than that. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s.

There’s a 20-percent chance for isolated showers through Monday, but our skies will still be mostly sunny.
