HOUSTON — We have a hot weekend ahead of us with a slight chance for scattered downpours, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
We have a 10-percent chance for rain on Saturday.
It’ll be sunny with a few clouds in the sky—pushing our afternoon temps into the mid-90s.
The rain chance works in around 11 a.m. There is a small chance for scattered showers Saturday afternoon.
The possibility for showers will pick up for Sunday with a 30 percent chance of rain.
Next Wednesday, we could be looking at a big change in the forecast. We’re looking at a temperature drop in the northern U.S. in mid-July, if you can believe it. It’s not set in stone, but next week Houston’s daytime temperatures could drop into the upper-80s and low-90s.
If the polar vortex holds together, our daytime high on Thursday will only be 89 degrees – but that’s if it makes it far enough south.
There’s a returning chance for rain mid-next week along with the cooler temps.
