Houston Forecast: Cool, sunny afternoon

HOUSTON – Saturday morning saw a record low for Houston, but the afternoon shaping up to be a very pleasant one, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

Houston woke up to a record low of 42, which beat out the previous low of 44 set in 1978.

By noon, the temperature will be 65 degrees and by 3 p.m. it will be sunny and in the mid-70s. Winds will continue gusting during the day out of the west and southwest at 10-15 mph.

Your Cinco de Mayo forecast will be beautiful. Expect sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s on Sunday.

Sunny days and temperatures in the 80s will continue through next week. Our next chance for rain comes next Friday with a 20 percent chance for showers.
