HOUSTON – Super Bowl weekend is off to a great start with temperatures already in the mid-60s late Saturday morning, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
Expect temperatures to peak in the low- to mid-70s later this afternoon as a southerly wind brings in mild weather for the weekend.
A front will move through the area Sunday afternoon, but there is not expected to be any rain from it until Monday, so Super Bowl parties will not be affected.
There will be some fog Sunday morning, but it should clear out quickly.
In other weather news, Punxsutawney Phi, Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog, did not see his shadow Saturday morning leading to a prediction of an early spring this year.
