HOUSTON – There’s a chance for rain and storms on this very warm and muggy Wednesday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

“There’s no need for the jacket today,” said Johnson. “You need the umbrella. Even though we’re starting off dry this morning, you may need it later today.”

There’s a 20-percent chance for rain Wednesday morning with temps in the upper-60s. By 9 a.m. light showers were already moving into the southwest side of town.

By lunchtime the rain chance goes up to 50-percent with temps in the mid-70s. This afternoon we’ll top out near 80 degrees with a continuing chance for rain and storms.

The dry weather returns Thursday for the foreseeable future.

We’ll see few clouds in the sky as our temperatures approach 90 degrees by the end of the weekend.
