HOUSTON – You may need a light jacket out the door this morning, but you won’t need it this afternoon, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
Friday kicks off a beautiful, sunny weekend for the Houston area.
Temps in the low-50s early this morning will quickly rise into the 60s and low 70s by this afternoon.
“We are going to continue to see temperatures build, but we'll still have low humidity,” said Johnson. “All that rain we saw yesterday was the result of a front that is now pushing off to the east. Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect in Georgia and the Carolinas.”
Closer to home, we’ll be dry through the weekend.
We’ll have mostly clear skies Saturday and Sunday with daytime temperatures in the mid-70s and overnight lows around 60 degrees.
Clouds return along with a slight chance for scattered rain starting Monday. We’re in for another slight drop in the temperatures in the middle of next week.
