Bad batch of gasoline leaves Houston customers with car trouble

HOUSTON-- A bad batch of gasoline at a Houston gas station left drivers with car trouble and and questions about what to do next.

It happened to Richard Jackson after he filled up at the Kay-B Phillips 66 station in the 4600 block of N. Main Street at Airline Drive.

"Fifteen minutes after just driving down the street all of a sudden, it just died," said Jackson. "I restarted it and it's been driving terrible ever since."

Jackson said he went back to the station and noticed a company called Sun Coast Resources was pumping the gas out of the tanks so he started snapping pictures.

He claims the clerk yelled at him.

"''I'm gonna call the police' because he saw me taking pictures of the tanker truck," said Jackson.

KHOU 11 News went down to talk to the owner, George Boueri. He said he wasn't aware of any confrontation between a customer and employee.

"We've been here for 17 years and we've never had that issue," claimed Boueri. "They can give me all the info and I submit it to Sun Coast."

We talked by phone with a spokesperson from the distribution company called "Sun Coast Resources" and they are trying to figure out if the water was in the tank at the station, in their truck or at the terminal where it was loaded.

They also assure us that all the affected customers, like Jackson, will have all their bills taken care of.

"It stalled on me twice already," Jackson said. "It's just real bad and, you know, I'm hoping I can make it home today."

The Texas Department of Agriculture also asks that you file a complaint with their office if you ever get bad gas.
