HOUSTON – Thursday morning's freeze warning was cancelled as the sun came up, bringing our temperatures into the 60s, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

The freeze warning for Grimes, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Washington counties expired at 8 a.m. Early morning temps in our southern counties were in the 40s.

"Temperatures will climb to right around 60 by lunchtime, so it'll still be cool throughout the day," said Johnson. "We'll be under clear skies."

This afternoon will be really nice, topping out around 68 degrees.

Looking at the seven-day forecast, we'll continue to see mostly clear skies with nice temperatures through the weekend. By Monday there will be a slight chance for rain as temperatures jump into the mid-70s.
