PONCHATOULA, La. -- Police arrested a man for allegedly embezzling around $70,000 from an American Legion.

Randall Baldini, 62, of Ponchatoula, was arrested Nov. 8 by police for felony theft, according to a release from Ponchatoula Police. Baldini was brought in for questioning after members of Legion Post #47 told police about the missing money.

Baldini waived his Miranda rights and admitted to embezzling the money to detectives. He told detectives he started taking money meant for the American Legion in 1999. Baldini was a member of the post, said Ponchatoula Police.
