Raw: Fire damages 2 units at northeast Houston duplex

HOUSTON—The Houston Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out at a small duplex in northeast Houston early Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the left section of a duplex on Crane at Pickfair around 3 a.m.

They made a fast attack and knocked out the flames within 20 minutes. Both units are occupied, but nobody was home at the time.

The left unit sustained heavy fire damage, and the right side suffered smoke damage.

No firefighters were injured.
