HOUSTON—Houston police are searching for a suspect who shot and killed two people after brazenly opening fire at a Taco Cabana in northwest Houston Monday night.

It happened at the restaurant in the 11300 block of Clay near Beltway 8 around 8 p.m.
Witnesses say two cars backed into two parking spaces before one of the occupants allegedly opened fire on the other, shooting as many as a dozen times, before driving away.
The target vehicle attempted to drive away as well, but crashed about half a mile down the feeder road. Inside, one man was found dead and the other was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Police said the suspect, who witnesses said was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, drove away in a black Mercedes.
Police speculate the shooting was drug-related because a large amount of marijuana was found in the backseat.
