HOUSTON –An off-duty HPD officer was involved in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a red-light runner in southwest Houston Tuesday night, according to Houston police.
It happened at the intersection of Harwin and the W. Sam Houston Parkway shortly after 11 p.m.
Police said a minivan was traveling southbound on the Sam Houston Parkway feeder road when the driver ran a red light and struck an SUV traveling westbound on Harwin. The SUV then rolled over and landed on top of a small brown car in another lane. The small car was being driven by the off-duty officer.
Amazingly, no one had to be transported to the hospital.
The drivers were each treated at the scene for minor injuries.
