HOUSTON – A young woman is dead after her Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle slammed into a tree in northwest Houston early Wednesday morning, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Barker Cypress Road at Saums Road.
Police believe the woman, who was in her 20s, lost control of her Mitsubishi Montero at a high rate of speed and went off the road to the right. The vehicle jumped the curb and went into a wooded area.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Police said they would conduct a full investigation.
