HOUSTON -- A water main break is causing problems on the southwest side of Houston near the Museum District Wednesday afternoon.

City officials said they closed off the water line at Renwick at Pine in an attempt to try and drain the pressure of the system using a fire hydrant.

Mud and debris are covering the roadway. The street is also damaged and broken up.

Water main breaks are unusual for this time of year. They typically happen during the summer months.
