HUMBLE, Texas – Some of state’s top dogs hit Houston Friday afternoon for the Texas K9 Officers Conference & Trials hosted by non-profit K9s4COPs and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The inaugural event was hosted at the HCSO’ training facility in Humble. Earlier in the week, the event featured competitions in categories like running through an obstacle course, narcotics detection, explosives detection and patrolling.
On Friday morning, the dogs and their handlers took part in the Texas Hard Dog/Fast Dog competition to demonstrate how to bring down a suspect. The K9s were judged on suspect impact and speed over an 80-yard course.
