BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox are helping the city get back to normal after a rough week. One player in particular has become an unlikely hero after a profanity-laced pre-game speech.
“This is our ******* city!” said David Ortiz, showing some defiance on Saturday. “And nobody is going to dictate our freedom. Stay strong. Thank you.”
It was a day after officers captured the final suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. It was also on live TV, but it looks like he has the support of the FCC.
After the game, the FCC chairman tweeted, “David Ortiz spoke from the heart at today’s Red Sox game. I stand with Big Papi and the people of Boston.”
