MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — New surveillance video released by Montgomery County investigators shows a pickup crashing through the Exxon convenience store on Riley Fuzzel Road last month.

The burglars jump out, grab the ATM and toss it in the back before driving the truck out of the store.

The video also shows a vehicle following alongside the truck, and a man peeking inside the store before the crash.

Investigators are hoping someone will recognize the car or the man in the window.

“In this case it caused extensive damage to the store, not only losing the ATM, but the huge inconvenience and loss of business time to the store is critical,” said Lt. Dan Norris of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. “We’d really like to catch these guys.”

The damage to the store has now been repaired. This week, the owners installed shutters on the windows and concrete barricades to keep cars out.

“I’m just amazed that these guys are just not worried about the consequences,” said the manager of the family-owned business. “They don’t think twice.”

Investigators found the stolen pickup used in the break-in abandoned just a few blocks away.

They aren’t sure if this “smash and grab” burglary is related to the others that have happened in the area.
