HOUSTON – Police said early Monday a suspected drunken driver was in custody after he lost control of his car and killed a woman walking in southeast Houston.
The crash happened at Scott Street and Goodhope Street around 1 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the driver of a silver Dodge Intrepid was heading south on Scott when his car struck the curb and went into a grassy median, hitting the pedestrian.
Investigators said the woman was dragged a short distance and died at the scene.
The car’s driver was taken into custody without further incident. He was identified as Timothy Perry-Price Sr., 29.
Police said Price was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
