BROWNSVILLE, Texas -- More than 200 uniformed officers and agents from various law-enforcement agencies, some of them with tear-stained faces, stood by as the flag-covered casket of slain ICE Special Agent Jaime Jorge Zapata arrived in Brownsville.
The Brownsville Herald reported that the body of the 32-year-old Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent arrived Friday at Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport.
The officers remained still as grieving family members walked to the casket that held Zapata, killed Tuesday in Mexico by unknown attackers who are suspected to be members of the Zetas criminal organization.
His body was taken to a local funeral home. Funeral arrangements are pending.
