HOUSTON – Houston police were called to the Gulf Freeway late Wednesday morning where they found an injured man and a car covered in blood.

Police are calling it a "family violence" incident.

They say a woman was in the driver’s seat and the injured man was outside the car when they arrived. There’s blood all over the front passenger side of the car’s interior.

The man was taken to Memorial Southeast Hospital in unknown condition.

Two children were in the back seat, but they weren’t harmed.

The little boys were sitting in the back of police cars parked on the freeway when Air 11 flew over the scene.

The woman was being questioned in another squad car.

CPS was headed to the scene to take custody of the children.

Three inbound lanes are open near the scene at Clear Lake Boulevard, but traffic is backed up.
