WASHINGTON -- A U.S. soldier will be honored for his heroic actions while off-duty.
Army specialist Michael Menchaca rushed to save a man who had fallen onto subway tracks.
A surveillance camera recorded the entire ordeal.
“I was just doing the right thing,” Menchaca said.
Another bystander helped Menchchaca get the man back on the platform.
Menchaca is being considered for one of the army’s highest peace-time awards.
The man in the wheelchair suffered only minor injuries.
