Man killed after his rear-ended Jeep catches fire on East Beltway feeder

HOUSTON—A man was killed Tuesday after his vehicle broke down on the East Beltway feeder road.

It happened around 3 p.m. near West Lake Houston Parkway.

The man had called a family member when his Jeep Cherokee was hit from behind by a wrecker driver and caught fire.

The wrecker driver and another man pulled the victim out and tried CPR, but he died on the scene.
