HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—At least 12 people were rushed to area hospitals after an attack on the campus of Lone Star College Cy-Fair. A witness said there were two guys running down the hallway and randomly stabbing students. KHOU 11 News reporter Malini Basu interviewed the frightened parents that had two sons who were on lockdown in the Science Building.

Mom:
“He just told me that there were 13 confirmed stabbings from what they understand.  One of the perpetrators has been detained and one is still at large. They won’t allow them out of the classroom and they’ve assured them that no one can get into the classroom without a key.  They are just sitting and waiting while the police collect the evidence and try to calm everyone else in the classroom.”
Malini Basu:
Did your son actually see the guy stab the girl?
Mom:
“No, he did not see any of that.  He saw the people with the bodies, whatever, the ambulances being brought out.”
Malini Basu:
How bad are they?
Mom:
He wouldn’t go into detail right now.
Malini:
Dad, how does this make you feel knowing that your son is in lockdown right now?
Dad:
I’m very upset, frustrated about the school system in the state of Texas.
Malini Basu:
What else is he telling you on the phone?
Dad:
Well, that he was concerned and he was praying and he knew that the Lord was protecting him.
Malini Basu:
What is going through your mind right now?
Dad:
Well, it’s just real sad that I’ve sat around and other adults and let the government take the Lord out of class and everything is deteriorating to what it is now and what is going on at schools.  And we have kids sitting in schools that are just targets for some goofball with a gun or a knife and wants to destroy the system and take away people’s lives who are trying to better themselves.
Malini Basu:
Mom, what is going through your mind?:
Mom:
I am terrified, I am not happy over the situation that the right of them for them to carry a gun should not be allowed on campus.  In this situation, the only people that are armed are going to be armed no matter how many laws you pass and that’s those that have harm for others.  I’m assuming that these 13 people didn’t do anything that would certainly deserve being stabbed.  I can’t imagine the situation.
