HOUSTON—The Houston Fire Department battled an early-morning fire that swept through a popular pizza joint in Midtown Wednesday.
The fire broke out at Late Nite Pie
in the 300 block of Tuam at Baldwin around 4 a.m.
HFD sent dozens of firefighters and three ladder trucks to dump water on the building as flames shot high into the air. It took firefighters more than two hours to try and gain control of the intense flames which caused the roof to cave in.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was nearly extinguished as of 6 a.m., but firefighters were still working on hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
