HOUSTON—Weather this week is finally returning to normal July conditions, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

Temperatures will heat up and some rain is expected, but storms will be more scattered. Most people will see less than half an inch, if any rain at all. However, if you do hear thunder be sure to head inside immediately

"We’re not expecting a repeat of last week," said Johnson.

As of Monday afternoon, brief, heavy downpours were affecting areas east of town in Crosby and further out in Coldspring. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80s and low 90s—89 in Conroe, 90 in Huntsville and 90 in Houston.

Tomorrow will be a repeat of what we see today—scattered, on-and-off showers. By Thursday and Friday, chances for rain will go down for the weekend.
