HOUSTON – Hold on to your hats, then get those umbrellas ready because after a windy, humid Monday, some stormy weather is coming to the area, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.

Monday kicked off with lows in the lower-70s and highs are expected to top off in the lower-80s, but the warm weather is not the factor today; the high winds are.  A south wind will gust at 30 miles pers hour and above this afternoon.
There is only a slight chance for rain in Houston Monday, but up in Central Texas there is a severe threat of straight-line winds, hail and tornadoes as a cold front approaches. Tomorrow, we go on severe weather watch.
There is a 100-percent chance for rain Tuesday with a possibility of seeing severe thunderstorms.
The rain chances will decrease to 40 percent on Wednesday, which is when the cooler weather will blow into town.
Lows will drop to the 50s Wednesday, then dip to the 40s Thursday.
