HOUSTON -– Thursday afternoon will be hot and mostly sunny, but there's still a chance for scattered rain.
"Here in the Houston Metro area we are seeing a decreasing chance for rain this afternoon, but along the coast you'll have a better chance at getting a few showers," said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
The forecast high today is 96 degrees with a 30-percent chance for rain.
The rest of this week looks the same – daytime temperatures in the mid-90s and a chance for scattered rain coming in off the Gulf.
Next week our daytime temperatures will drop a few degrees into the low-90s.
Out in the Caribbean, Gabrielle lost its tropical storm status early Thursday. While it brought heavy rain to Puerto Rico, it's now expected to fall apart into a low-pressure system.
