HOUSTON — A Tornado Watch for several counties in the Houston area has been suspended Saturday afternoon after a line of thunderstorms moved through earlier in the day, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
HOUSTON — There is a Tornado Watch in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday for several counties in the Houston area as a line of thunderstorms moves through this weekend, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
The watch is for Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton counties.
There is a 50 percent chance for rain Saturday with a forecast high of 65 degrees.
The storms will linger in the Houston area for most of the day before clearing out of Southeast Texas late Saturday.
The cold air from moving behind the thunderstorms will not be felt until Sunday with a high of 60 and a low of 51.
Highs will hover in the 50s for the holiday week with lows in the 30s. We could see some freezing temps come Christmas Eve and even on Monday.
